UCLA REGGAE JAZZ FEST

Who’s going?

LOOK WHAT I FOUND AT MY DOORSTEP!

Thanks to the kind folk at Insteegram for the hook up of free shirts!  These guys had the brilliant idea to allow Instagram users
to post up pics taken from the app and have them placed on nice tee shirts from American Apparel.  They fit nicely!
Check em out here!  Buy some! They make great gifts!  This is a pic I took below below w/ my brothers.

:: LAST WEEK’S RECAP ::

ANA TIJOUX AT THE ECHO RECAP | 17 MAY 2012

Last night at The Echo was a lot of fun!  Big thanks to Canyon Cody of Nacional and Dj Ethos for having me.
I had fun playing a set that went all over the place.  I hope the folks had fun.  I finally got my first taste of Los Rakas.
These cats effortlessly rock the crowd.  Laid back yet heavy 808′s.  2 Mex was 2 Mex. Classic, witty, funny yet full of life!
Ana Tijoux kilt it!  I was interested to see how she would translate her latest album live and truth be told she did it with
just a dj and a drummer/keys player.  It was a soulful set yet hard hitting with her spitfire rhymes.  Big up to all the friends
who made it out and I got to say hello to!

JEFF STAPLE

I had the pleasure of meeting Jeff when he was in LA.  I study this dude
daily.  I remember getting hipped to Jeff via his magazine Reed Space which I picked up
in Paris at Colette.  I was blown away by the print and style of the mag which showcased every day
folks on the hustle and grind of art, music and culture.  I love this piece on Jeff.

KCRW PLAYLIST | 15 MAY 2012

It’s been a really crazy couple of weeks and truth be told I was not sure how this show would turn out.
I am a perfectionist so its important that every show not only be epic but consist of 3 hours of
all songs that I love! PERIOD.  Thats my goal every week.  And this one came together well!
The three hours went by super fast and I ended up realizing this show was turning out to be
one of my favorites! I like to think that is all stems from my belief that a new pair of shoes will
contribute to it.  But maybe its the new Los Miticos Del Ritmo MJ cover? Or the new Major Lazer w/
Dirty Projectors?  From past to present, future and beyond this show musically kicked ass!
Big shout out to all the folks listening across the Globe! Dublin to the UK and beyond!
Hope you enjoy!

TEST PRESSING | JUST VISITING

The test pressing just came in for the new record!  I managed to listen to it on the studio monitors and last night at
The Virgil and I have to say it sounds incredible. I might be biased though but kudos to Itai for the mixing and Tech for the
mastering.  I have always respected the craft but my appreciation grew 10 times stronger.   Another interesting element
is listening to your record in a way that allows you, the artist, to take it all in as a whole or in two sections, side a and b.
This album has so many different incredible directions that I am extremely proud of.   I can’t wait for you to hear this record!
