ILLA JAY + JOHN AVILA

I am currently working on a remix to be released from Amoeba Records as a digital download and a 7 inch (vinyl).  The joint is from former front man of East LA Sabor Factory’s Ricky Ray Rivera and featuring contributions and verses from Illa J, Medusa, Rashaan Ahmal (Crown City Rockers / Mission) and Chali 2na (fingers crossed).   Today we finished session one.   I was surprised to find out Oingo Boingo’s very own John Avila was mixing the project and tracking the vocals.  

J came through and laid down some straight soulful heat.   I told Ricky I def. hear Medusa killing the chorus and J rocking this one part with his cool harmonies.. So far so good. Stay posted!
