MJ Tribute.
Ive been wanting to post something up in regards to the huge impact Michael had on my life but just feel like anything I write could really serve no justice. As a kid growing up in LA with a very unique childhood, MJ taught me it was okay to be different, creative and to always accent on the one and the two musically. I once performed at the Super Bowl Half Time show as part of the “Heal The World” segment. I remember prior to coming out, I found myself in one of the many tunnels standing beside OJ Simpson who was doing reporting at the time (this was pre murder thingie). OJ and I watched MJ do his dance moves and OJ had no words but could just shake his head in disbelief at the ways that MJ would defy gravity with his leg work.
The way i hear music today and the way I make music is attributed to MJ. He taught me to not only hear the music but to feel it. To accent it. Anyhoo, Seriously, I refuse to write anything any further because I could the man no justice. But I do remember watching Moonwalker, Remember the Time, and all his videos over and over and over and over and over and over and learning all the dance routines!
So Mia (Zanzibar!) and Novena (Babystone!) came over and we sapped away at the Stevie doing his number and Paris breaking down. Enjoy the pics! Shout outs to Jess (who is in Europe) for the flat screen and great sound!
