Every time I walk my Smedley Butler III Esq. aka Lord Smed of Valashire I get to see some interesting stuff along the Venice boardwalk. Having a pet has allowed me to get out of the house more and more and see things that inspire me to make music or take pictures. I took these this evening. Hope you dig!

24 HOURS IN LA
This week has been crazy for me personally. My perspective on life changed a bit due to a sudden health scare and the entire time I walked more, sat in the shower more, thought more and restricted myself from more work. But the camera was still in hand. Peep the pics!

As I sit here awaiting tonight’s episode of Walking Dead on AMC I thought I’d post up some snapshots I took today around Venice. Sundays are great days to be pet a pet owner. Spring Break was popping in Venice as folks swarmed the Boardwalk and Abbott Kinney! Hope you dig!

I sat here writing about how incredible this brother is but scrapped it. You need to witness it live! Words can do no justice to a Jose James + band show.
It was great tho to see Richard Spaven on the drums! Big up to everyone that came out tonight and got to see first hand live musicianship at its finest!

72 HOURS ACROSS LA
It’s hard for me to put the camera down. If you follow my blog you might see that. From my work to travels, simple drives across town to just random roaming, I love bringing my Nikon. The past 72 hours have been an example of that. From walking my dog along the boardwalk, Saturday night’s madness at Sayers and a Sunday night adventure in Echo Park. Its all captured below. This is so ultra I actually had to delay my flight for this. Jose James comes to my neighborhood for a first of 2 two shows in Venice. This is one of my top albums of 2013 with no question.
I got to catch Jose do an Apogee session for KCRW a few months back and I was blown away. Get your tix!

Great hang tonight w/ Miles Bonny and Osulande who were stuck in LA for a 3 hour lay over. Found ourselves watching the Oscars at Hama Sushi in Venice. They are doing a show in Melbourne so if your around in the area make sure to check em out! Wish I could catch this.

I first heard “This Charming Mixtape” and wondered “Who is this rapping over these dance beats?”. I loved it. Then I get a call from TL’s management saying “We are in Venice, where you at”. Just like that, TL and I began talking about about his direction and inspiration as an artist.
