Last week I got my hands on this new Tricky album. It’s been years since Maxinquaye dropped and mystified my ears. He followed up an equally dark and heavy beat album which I loved. Then from there, I’m not sure what happened. More guitars, more drum rolls, more grunting and roaring and he somehow fell off my musical map. I got his latest album in the mail (Big up Jess at Co/sign) and I put it into my disc player in the car and for the next hour I was actually blown away with this album! False Idols returns to signature sound with various vocal features. This one is by far the stand out! Fifi Rong does a stellar job on this. Hope you dig!
