Babeheaven

Babeheaven caught my attention sometime last year. Nancy Andersen’s voice is soothing and perfect alongside Jamie Travis’s contribution to their sound. Listen to more of their sound.

SAULT

Sault may have one of my top 3 albums of the year alongside IGOR and Oncle Jazz by Men I Trust. I dont know much about this band which is kind of what I love and appreciate. I miss mystery in music. But their timeless sonics at times makes me think they are from the early 70’s, possibly future soul? I cant quite put my finger on it. I love it! Judge for yourself with a listen.

BIIG PIIG

I’ve been playing for a year and it’s nice to see her evolution. Originally from Ireland and blending so many different genres together effortlessly, Sunny hits perfectly during my KCRW sets.

30/70 Collective

Ive been getting their music sent to me from Rhythm Section International and even since Ive been in love with every cut sent. Amazing future jazz/R&b out of Australia with hints of Hiatus Kaiyote but absolutely their own.

Men I Trust

I’m absolutely happy this Canadian band kept production simple and soft. Soft as in each kick, snare, key pad and vocal hits the way it should with out anything being loud and in excess. Oncle Jazz is easily in my top 5 of the year.

Bonus // Guilty Pleasure // Bad Bunny with J Balvin

La Canción has been on repeat all summer long. Not sure if it’s the somber tone of this banger. It’s something I cant quite play in the club during my sets but works well during my radio sets. I was expecting something entirely different from these two heavyweights, but when La Cancion came on my radar, I was not only impressed but really in love with the record’s simplicity.
