I’m grateful to be playing records tonight at the Del Monte Speakeasy. And every Friday Friday night for that matter. I’ve been inside reading and spending more time with my pup but I do need to get out. I hope to see you tonight on the dance floor. No requests tho.

Looking forward to playing records this Saturday night in Tokyo. If you are around or know folks tell them to come through!
I’m super excited about curating this year’s talent at FIGat7th in DTLA. CITY VIBES is about showcasing locals and folks we simply love. I can’t spell the beans just yet but so far things are looking super soulful and I also brought on board a few buddies of mine to curate some special editions. But our first edition is this Saturday and none other than RES!
RES and I use to do shows at the now defunct TempleBar and Little Temple. I use to love opening for her cause you never really knew what she would do or who she would bring up stage. There was that one night she had a little known artist by the name of Santigold open up. I also had the pleasure of hitting the road with RES as we opened for Jean Grae and Talib Kweli in various cities. It was a real eye opening experience for me for to work with live musicians and provide the scratches and string samples.
This Saturday I hope you might join us for live music at FIGat7th! Come through and enjoy all the cool eateries in the area! I’ll be there as well hanging out and playing some records. Would love to see you there this Saturday. Swing through! It’s our pre Saturday night get down before I have to head to Sayers in Hollywood! (plug).
Hope to see you! In addition to the residencies we have some extra goodies around LA! Contact me via Twitter for any questions! @anthonyvaladez
It’s been fun rocking with Hiatus Kaiyote’s Socal tour dates at The Roxy and The Constellation Room in the OC. Both sold out shows were packed with fans who came out in full support. Big love to Low Leaf and Kadhja Bonnet. It’s always fun watching how crowds react to their artistry on stage. If you don’t have their new album, get it. Choose Your Weapon is out now! Also shout outs to Si, Scott + Marek!
Looking forward to opening for Hiatus Kaiyote during their SoCal leg of the tour. Also on the bill with bill Low Leaf for both nights and yours truly opening behind the turntables to set the vibe. Both nights are sold out. Hope you got your tix!
April 10th! Get your tix here. Would love to see you!
Thursdays w/ SeSSionS is a dj’s dream. Playing music for folks who make music. Swing through! Saturday night’s at The Sayers Club is something different yet incredible time I get to team up w/ Tony Royster Jr on drums. You might have seen him on tour w/ Jay Z or on TV entraining with drum solos. Back at it this Saturday night! Hope to see you! Shout out Chase McCurdy for the snapshots!

I’ve been away for 5 months doing my thing at The SLS Hotel in Vegas and since then I have been rocking a few parties in the Bay Area. The Bay in many ways reminds me of Friday night’s at Zanzibar. Folks of different backgrounds, experiences, ethnicities coming together to wrap up a work week with some old and new sounds. KG Superstar and I always prided ourselves with all that love under one roof. I’m super stoked to be back behind the turntables (and minutes away from home) and taking things up a notch. I just completed some new visuals for the night and being away from home you kind of realize what you took for granted from a dj perspective. Vegas is all about “Turn Up” and I love bringing that element to Sin City but I also love a little “Turn Down” (but don’t get it twisted, it will be turn’t up). As always, drop me a line for guest list love! – email@example.com. Whoop! Can’t wait!
Looking forward to coming back to the Bay Area alongside King Most and friends! Vibes go down at The Rock Steady and kicks off at 9 pm! No cover all night. Swing through and lets hang!
It was great to be back at my ole’ stomping grounds at Zanzibar for NYE. It was also great to be surrounded by old friends on the dance floor and see so many familiar faces! Human connection can really push me to step things up when behind the turntables. A big big thank you to the staff and friends. And yoooo!! Snakes? Fire Eaters? This spot was something else!
Big night at The Sayers Club at The SLS last night! Saw some LA folks in the building and expecting more tonight (Friday). Big thanks to Jeff T on the drums and King Most for always bringing their a game with our live set. I’ll be back in Hollywood Saturday so if you in town swing through!
Tonight and every Thursday night you can find myself and King Most (SF) holding down the fort at The SLS in Las Vegas. It’s been an adventure as you can probably tell via my instagram but one of the best experiences in 20 plus years as a dj/selector. Friday night I return w/ the SeSSionS crew that mixes live music with one of my favorite bands providing the good vibes. Always cool to play before and after this band. If you are in town, swing through!
A big shout out to Chase McCurdy for the amazing shots and Jason Scoppa for putting this all together! Last week was lots of fun w/ Nicholas Suhr on the drums. Hope to see you next Saturday night!
It’s about that time of year where we say goodbye to 2014 and bring in the New Year! I’m super exited to be back home in Santa Monica for this NYE at my home away from home, Zanzibar! I can easily predict this might be the party of the year. Hope to see all my friends under one roof counting in January 1st with me! Tix available soon!
The Funky President J Rocc swings through for a chat about his journey as a club dj in the OC and into the working man he is today. But then in came Peanut Butter Wolf to start the party and break down the history of the Ultimate Breaks and Beats series and it’s inspiration of sample/rap culture. Tales of digging, comic book store jobs and serving the homies at Mcdonalds are all told. You can also listen to J Rocc’s live KCRW set right here! And grab your tickets to Ultimate Breaks and Beats at The Echoplex to catch these guys in action w/ Biz Markie and Breakbeat Lou on Sunday November 23rd.
Here’s a brief behind the scenes visual recap of my weekly adventures w/ King Most. KM joins me this Wednesday night in K Town (LA) at the Line Hotel outside of Pot Bar! Hope you dig the video recap!
The amazing and KCRW Monday night favorite Nick Hakim is coming to LA and Im excited to witness his magic first hand. If you have caught my weekly radio show odds are you might have heard this brother’s soulful sounds. Hope to see you there!
Honored to rock the turntables and play some classics and gems influenced by the legendary Donna Summer. I’ll be getting off a plane and heading straight to the Grammy Museum then hitting Sayers right after on the 1st so I’ll hope you might join me for a night of dancing + celebrating this icon’s work!
Good times w/ the mighty King Most, Max Macveety on drums + the Sayers/SLS Vegas crew last night. I’ll be back on the decks tonight w/ The Sessions. If you are around, come say hi!
It’s been quite the adventure venturing out to Vegas every week and reworking new sets w/ my partner in crime King Most out of SF. It’s an interesting concept conceived by Jason Scoppa and when we hit, it’s pretty darn magical! We are joined by a drummer each Thursday night at the SLS Sayers Club and its almost jazz like in a sense we basically perform an improv variety of scratches, acapellas, breaks and club cuts that take us to that peak of the night. I’m also holding down the turntables as part of the Sessions party on Friday night as well so if you are ever out this way, swing through, say hi! Get info here!

Images, videos can best describe my past 24 hours. And it continues tonight! Swing through at the SLS in Vegas. I’ll be back behind the turntables. Would love to see you.
Just landed into LA and ready to bring the party to The Sayers Club in Hollywood tonight. Brian Collier (Lauryn Hill/Too Short) and Nick Suhr (K Flay) join me on drums and Dj Syrehn is on the turntables. Big love to King Most for holding down the duties last night.
I am honored once again to introduce the amazing Meshell N’Degeocello as she performs songs off her latest album entitled Comet, Come To Me. 13 songs that once again explore every human emotion possible in one’s lifetime in a matter 45 minutes. What stands out on this album is the instrumentation which continues right where she left off on her last album Weather. The grooves become more solid and Meshell takes control of this album with her lyrics and smooth bass delivery. If you don’t have this album, go grab it! If you have it and are in LA on the 21st of September then I expect to see you at the El Rey! Grab tickets here!
Wednesday night’s Roarkyd and I provide the soundtrack inside the The Line Hotel in K Town. Swing through to Pot and Commissary for some amazing food curated by the amazing Roy Choi! You can listen to our chat via KCRW’s Guest Dj Project sometime last year. As you can tell he’s a music head so it’s a true honor to play some of my favorite cuts inside the lobby. Swing through and say hi!
Night One of our kick off at our weekly at the SLS Sayers Club in Vegas was quite the adventure. But the energy and madness during our performance was something else!!!! Big thanks to Jason Scoppa + the amazing staff at this unique and special venue! We were in the middle of the madness and I broke out the GOPRO and recorded a little something. The adventures continue Friday and just about every night! Swing through! Say hello!

Just wrapped up a day in the Bay at The Phoenix Hotel as part of the Mixologi party. I’m still trying to recover from the parties in Vegas and the LA residencies. But things got seriously turnt up today under a gorgeous sky. A big big big shout out to all the incredible folks who came out and got down to all the dee jays! Good vibes + energy were present through out the day. A big thank you to Aaron Dolores for the hospitality and all the friends who came out that I have not seen in a minute (Whooligan, Wonway Possibul, Seth) and all the new friends I got to meet. It’s been fun holding down the turntables during First Fridays with some of the most incredible dj’s, bands and dancers coming through the doors of the Natural History Museum! Big thanks to all who came out and got down with us this past Friday night for our final First Fridays of the year!! But have no fear as the party continues with Summer Nights In the Garden! I’ll be back for a series of nights and you still get to explore the museum and have a ball! More info here.
What an incredible day at Orchard Park in the Bronx as 16,000 folks hung out, danced and fist pumped awaiting Jennifer Lopez to take the stage. Shout outs to Cipha Sounds and Alex Sensation for rocking the party! The love in the park was off the charts and nothing but positive energy from various generations coming out to support one of their own. I managed to break out the camera at times and take some snapshots. Big thanks to Lynda Lopez for the additional shots with her amazing photo skills on her I phone! It was an honor to take the stage and play the music I love while opening for an incredible soul who enjoys giving back to her community, fan base and hometown! Hope you dig!
It’s our final First Fridays of the year! This time we bring the party indoors/outdoors! Live music via Unknown Mortal Orchestra, De Lux, Tobacco, Painted Palms and yours truly w/ Garth Trinidad on the turntables! Get your tix! Hope to see you!

I’ll be on the turntables opening for this amazing talent! Hope to see you there!
