Wheeew! Right before heading into the basement for this show I came straight from a gig in DTLA and recorded two podcasts along the way then went into the studio and it was my cool down time! Dimmed the lights, turned on the turntables and broke out the new and old out of the record bag. Excited about the records from Ana Tijoux, Sango, Phife and Sam Smith! Also big thanks to LA band Moonchild for this Jazzy Jeff/James Poyser remix! Got that minutes before my show and was excited to drop it into the set.  Hope you dig this week’s show! Easily one of my faves.

Prepping for his new tour, Toro Y Moi dropped this 7 inch and boy is it a doozie!  The drum programming is something but the bass line and guitar licks are a winner!  This can be copped at his North American shows.  And it should noted that in addition to having what I consider the album of year with Anything In Return, he did an amazing remix for Verve’s The First Ladies compilation. Hear his remix for Billie Holiday’s My Man” from my most recent radio show. It’s a great track!
