I’m not sure why but for the most part of my daily errands I carry my camera or I phone in the ready position and ready to capture anything that might catch my eye. Below are a series of snapshots from Dallas, Watts, Venice and various dj gigs around town. All shots caught on my I phone 6 Plus or Nikon D90.

All the shots are pretty much self explanatory. Snapshots taken at Venice Beach, Chinatown, Skidrow and DTLA. Met some really cool folks. After djing at Cana Rum Bar last night I had this urge to take some snapshots. The night felt right and I had this new Blood Orange cd on repeat. I wish I had brought my camera but instead settled for these I phone snapshots. Hope you dig.
If you were there then you already know last night was one of the most amazing parties of the year at Chinatown! The kids, the community, the dancers, our friends, our new friends, our old friends all came out and seriously took the party to the next level! I kicked things with a few of my favorite records that get love every time in Chinatown then broke in some new gems then Dj Puffs followed. KG Superstar actually showed up super early which helped kicked off the night at a 10! A special thanks to George Yu and the entire Chinatown staff who always curate something special in one of LA’s most exciting parts of town! We had a blast!
It’s the last party of the year and end of Summer jump off! We celebrate the Moon Festival with our good folks in Chinatown! Joining me will be Dj Puffs and hosting is none of other than KG Superstar! This is one of my favorite parties of the year complete under the LA neon sky. The flyer pretty much says it all so come out and bring your cameras! I took these shots during Summer Nights and these last year! Hope to see you this Saturday LA!

Numbers surround us. Numbers inspire us. Numbers give a purpose and sometimes an uncomfortable barometer of self worth but numbers also help us locate, find and take us to where we need to go. So I decided to pay them some love. Enjoy.
Back to Chinatown for this Saturday’s jump off over at Grand Star. Outside is the Summer Night’s series presented by KCRW w/ Mario Cotto and Raul Campos holding down the stage. Marion Hodges, HM Sound, Stereotype and yours truly hold down the Grand Star. It’s 21 and over and free! Swing through and say hello! I’ll be doing an early set (7-8 pm) then heading over to my residency right after so make sure to stop by, grab a drink, say hello and enjoy! Afterward I’ll be at Sayers in Hollywood from 10-2 am! Night one was awesome! I got there early enough to catch some of the energy and bump into my dude Roy Choi! Great ceremonies by the local Martial Arts group, unveiling of the Bruce Lee statue and many cool vendors and live performances presented by the LA Weekly. It was awesome to see so many friends come out and get down with us on a Saturday evening! KG arrived and we just cranked it up a few notches only to blow the power towards the end of our set. Apologies! Somehow we managed to get everyone in the plaza to partake in a massive group hug! But once all systems were go again Liza Richardson took over and it was back to the dancing! We still have a couple more community gatherings left including the Skirball, The Hammer Museum and the screening and 30th Anniversary of Style Wars in Hollywood! We do it again! Never a night like this where we just crush a party hard! KG Superstar joins me on the mic next Saturday night. The amazing Liza Richardson rocks the turntables after! Make sure to get there early. My set is from 8-10 pm then it’s off to The Sayers Club for more Saturday night fun! And its free to the community. Make sure to swing through and say hi! Yesterday I took my friend Nick through the backstreets and crevices of DTLA’s Fashion District then over to Chinatown for a bit with the camera in hand. Bumped into Tati and Lucas over at Grand Park for a cool hang session. Peep the snapshots!
Today I went out and explore LA with SF friend Spinnerty in tow. Got some food and then hit up the Craft jump off Spring Street and walked back to J town with my camera at my side. Decided to snap shots back to my car. Tomorrow afternoon be on the look out for my new mix TWENTY TOMORROW in the afternoon. 40 plus minutes of some of my favorite under the radar future gems.
