IN CONVERSATION | DEXTER STORY

Dexter Story just about does it all. If you have seen live music anywhere in Los Angeles during the past 10 years, chances are you have seen him on stage playing bass, guitar or drums. I met Dexter while recording a session for Ammon Contact roughly 9 years ago. I instantly gravitated towards his positive energy and ability to access situations with a can do attitute. I know this sounds like a letter of reference but once you listen I think you will understand what It is I am talking about. I later learned Dex also worked product management for some big releases as well as artist management. He is a friend, father and great guy. I’m sure his energy will travel from this soundcloud link and into your heart. Hope you enjoy this episode!

LOOKING BACK | SNAPSHOTS

One of my best investments is my camera. Life is short. I often wonder what my seeds might think when they look back at this blog. Im not really sure I keep a blog. Sure I love art, culture, changing tides in fashion and music but this is more than that. This is a documentation of time and space. From everything I play on the radio to being allowed to have the freedom to do the things that I wish to do (i.e interviews, mixes, chats) and just capturing all that surrounds me. It allows me to do things my way. It’s not always the best way but its my creative hub to do the things that I feel get pushed aside.

When I look at these pics I am reminded of folks who took art into a direction that made them content at that time. I was in the right place at the right time to snap these shots of them in a certain place and they were okay with that. The trust between an artist and person with a camera is sacred. I am grateful to be able to capture these musical movements with a radio show and a camera but I prefer to be on the front lines with camera in two, microphone on and ready to record. I love to be in that space of creation. Being able to document it with a camera is exciting! I encourage you to create your blog! Capture whats around you. Create a podcast! Enjoy these snapshots!
