Kamasi Washington is that dude I’ve seen around in the clubs playing with just about everyone in LA. Often quiet with a laugh here and there but the minute he touches the the sax he commands attention. After making noise on Kendrick Lamar’s latest album “To Pimp A Butterfly” and his forthcoming project “The Epic“, I wanted to talk to him and dig into his brain about this creative process. I also invited over my colleague and all around music nerd Jeremy Sole to co-host this episode.

PATTERN BAR RECAP | 27 FEB 2013

Good times at Lis-Uh-N last night. Managed to grab a quick bite with friends at Umami Burger then warm things up on the turntables. Lots of special friends in the building. My friend Yash shot some great video while I was up playing something a little different and special. The new Kwabs is the first track which is really cool and mellow followed by a Waajeed beat. Anyways, further proof we like to experiment with sounds on Wednesday nights. And a big thanks to Jeremy Sole for getting down with us before having to head to the basement for his show. Lots of fun!
