I’ve been away for 5 months doing my thing at The SLS Hotel in Vegas and since then I have been rocking a few parties in the Bay Area. The Bay in many ways reminds me of Friday night’s at Zanzibar. Folks of different backgrounds, experiences, ethnicities coming together to wrap up a work week with some old and new sounds. KG Superstar and I always prided ourselves with all that love under one roof. I’m super stoked to be back behind the turntables (and minutes away from home) and taking things up a notch. I just completed some new visuals for the night and being away from home you kind of realize what you took for granted from a dj perspective. Vegas is all about “Turn Up” and I love bringing that element to Sin City but I also love a little “Turn Down” (but don’t get it twisted, it will be turn’t up).  As always, drop me a line for guest list love! – anthonyvaladez@gmail.com. Rain vibes always keep a crowd indoors. Big love to all the folks who helped us celebrate an end to a work week accompanied by a little rain and thunder. It was a fun feel and I managed to break out some records I totally forgot I had in my collection. It was also good to see some regulars in the building getting down with KG Superstar and myself. What a night! What a night! Energy was turnt up and folks got down with us for another fam bam Friday night edition of The Goods. Big thanks to KG Superstar for always bringing the healthy juices to balance out the slice of pizza I grabbed en route to Zanzibar. I usually take a walk around the block before hitting the turntables and I could already hear the crowd inside going insane to a pre mix I had made earlier in the day. I walked into to see about 50 people losing their minds and then it was time to take it up a notch.  We hope to see you next week for our final jump off in 2013!  NYE 2014 I’ll be bringing the party to the Cana Rum Bar in DTLA! If you were there then you already know last night was one of the most amazing parties of the year at Chinatown! The kids, the community, the dancers, our friends, our new friends, our old friends all came out and seriously took the party to the next level! I kicked things with a few of my favorite records that get love every time in Chinatown then broke in some new gems then Dj Puffs followed. KG Superstar actually showed up super early which helped kicked off the night at a 10!  A special thanks to George Yu and the entire Chinatown staff who always curate something special in one of LA’s most exciting parts of town!  We had a blast!

CHINATOWNMOON

It’s the last party of the year and end of Summer jump off! We celebrate the Moon Festival with our good folks in Chinatown!  Joining me will be Dj Puffs and hosting is none of other than KG Superstar! Night one was awesome! I got there early enough to catch some of the energy and bump into my dude Roy Choi!  Great ceremonies by the local Martial Arts group, unveiling of the Bruce Lee statue and many cool vendors and live performances presented by the LA Weekly.  It was awesome to see so many friends come out and get down with us on a Saturday evening!  KG arrived and we just cranked it up a few notches only to blow the power towards the end of our set. Apologies! Somehow we managed to get everyone in the plaza to partake in a massive group hug! But once all systems were go again Liza Richardson took over and it was back to the dancing!  We still have a couple more community gatherings left including the Skirball, The Hammer Museum and the screening and 30th Anniversary of Style Wars in Hollywood! We do it again! Never a night like this where we just crush a party hard! KG Superstar joins me on the mic next Saturday night.  The amazing Liza Richardson rocks the turntables after!  Make sure to get there early. History in the making! The Supreme Team unite on a special Wednesday night. Too much sexy and love in the room might make the Earth explode but we are willing to take that risk!  They said it could never be done! The doctors advised us against it! The pundits dismissed us in 2012! News analysts predicted our demise on a week night! Club owners said our energy was too much for venues!  And we are doing it! Making it happen! Positive energy!  YESSSSSSSSS!!!

Tonight! Our first 2012 session of the year and Im super excited to be back at my second home on the west side.  Last was we ended on such a high note. Last week was exactly what I needed following the tragedy in Newton. I needed to be around friends and just see lots of hugs, smiles and positive energy. And that is all I saw while behind the turntables.  Im grateful to see so many friends and make new friends every Friday in Zanzibar. Tonight is no different!  KG Superstar and I go hard all night. Just like every other special Friday night we turn Zanzibar into a dance party. It’s the end of a work week for you and I so I cant think of any better way to wrap things up then with yours truly and KG Superstar on the mic. I was digging through the pictures and checking out all the fam who have celebrated with us for the past 5 years at THE GOODS.  Im grateful for all the fam who use to celebrate with us at Little Temple and are now part of the Zanzibar family!
