I’m not sure why but for the most part of my daily errands I carry my camera or I phone in the ready position and ready to capture anything that might catch my eye. Below are a series of snapshots from Dallas, Watts, Venice and various dj gigs around town. All shots caught on my I phone 6 Plus or Nikon D90.

Today was just super magical. We got to explore United Record Pressing which use to press up over a thousand records a month during the reign of Motown. There is so much history and yet the pressing continues! Arnold’s Country Kitchen was the highlight on the food front. Puckers was comforting, Merchant had an amazing and tasteful burger, but Arnold’s hit the spot with their Meat and Three menu. Next up was RCA Studio B! Standing on the cue spots where Elvis once stood was pretty magical. Also hearing the sorted string sections in this magical studio gave me chills. Next up is Bonnaroo!
A lot has changed since I started this blog. I was much more active but with dj gigs and shooting dates with Crate Diggers/Live Alive on FUSE, my time is very much limited. Yet I still love sharing my adventures with you. I always make it a point to carry a camera or keep my I phone close for these snapshots.

The past few week’s have been a cooler coaster. Getting re tweeted and grammes by Rosario Dawson was kind of cool but attending Manifest Justice and hearing Trayvon Martin’s mother speak was tough. Also tough was the vigil for Brendon Glenn who was shot and killed by LAPD. Following all this was our KCRW Pledge drive and hanging out with mother was kind of cool. Hope you dig! It’s been a crazy few weeks planning the Kamasi podcast, kicking off the KCRW Pledge drive, etc etc. But here’s a glimpse of what my life looks like through the eyes of.. my I phone!
Yesterday after hitting up the Artist and Fleas Market I walked over to one of my favorite LA spots, the 6th Street Bridge and began taking snapshots. I have always brought friends and tourists to this area. Word is reconstruction and a possible face lift may change this landmark’s image but I wanted to capture these images that have always connected DTLA to Boyle Heights and East LA. If you ever get a chance, head below the bridge to an open walk/driveway that leads you directly to the wash.
Day One of rehearsals for this big show is done. We finished rehearsals and I instantly headed to the Lower East Side to snap some shots and grab some Bao! Baohaus is the spot! Managed to break out the camera and take a walk for several blocks. Quite the contrast from my last trip along Interstate 15. Hope you dig!

LobsterFest, The Goods at Zanzibar, Saturday at Sayers! It’s been a fun and crazy weekend. Jaz and I caught some cool snapshots from Friday but I also snapped took some random snapshots along the way capturing the adventure. Hope you dig!

Finally the weekend is over! Prepping for a 2 day vacation far from home before it’s time to hit the grind again. Chinatown was fun! Big thanks the HM Soundsystem for having me! LATIDO was fun! The Goods was super cracking! Saturday was wild at Sunday was perfect at Sayers. These are some of the snapshots I took along the way.

A few weeks back Allen of Plug Research and I traveled up north to hang with Shortcircles and shoot a video. Im really proud of this video and all the magic I was able to capture with my Nikon. It feels right for the vibe of the song. Hope you dig!
You know it’s Summer time when folks come to the clubs wearing less and less. And what better way to kick off the season then with some new wheels! The residencies were fun this weekend. Thanks to all who came out to Cana Rum Bar, Zanzibar, Sayers and at Sunday Sessions at Grand Park! Fun times all around. Hope to see you back at Grand Park for our 4th of July jump off! Info here.
Last weekend Allen (Plug Research) and I took a road trip up to the Bay area to shoot this new video for Shortcircles new single. I grabbed the camera, packed my bag and hit the road for a couple of days. It was cool to see the Shortcircle studio in the heart of east Oakland. Im in the process of finalizing my next record so it’s always interesting to see how other folks produce and create sounds. I also took some snap shots while up north. Can’t wait to share the new video. Just finished the editing yesterday. New Shortcircles drops July 2nd!
It’s kind of cool to walk your pup around Venice with the camera in tow. Peep the pics!
Every time I walk my Smedley Butler III Esq. aka Lord Smed of Valashire I get to see some interesting stuff along the Venice boardwalk. Having a pet has allowed me to get out of the house more and more and see things that inspire me to make music or take pictures. I took these this evening. Hope you dig!
It’s hard for me to put the camera down. If you follow my blog you might see that. From my work to travels, simple drives across town to just random roaming, I love bringing my Nikon. The past 72 hours have been an example of that. From walking my dog along the boardwalk, Saturday night’s madness at Sayers and a Sunday night adventure in Echo Park. Its all captured below.
