It was great to be back at my ole’ stomping grounds at Zanzibar for NYE. It was also great to be surrounded by old friends on the dance floor and see so many familiar faces! Human connection can really push me to step things up when behind the turntables. A big big thank you to the staff and friends. And yoooo!! Snakes? Fire Eaters? This spot was something else!
It’s about that time of year where we say goodbye to 2014 and bring in the New Year! I’m super exited to be back home in Santa Monica for this NYE at my home away from home, Zanzibar! I can easily predict this might be the party of the year. Hope to see all my friends under one roof counting in January 1st with me! Tix available soon!
First things first, Happy 2014. A big thanks to the folks at Cana Rum Bar/213 Nightlife for making last night happen. My guest list was cut off and maxed out yesterday and I could not think of a more intimate setting than inside this wonderful venue that I call home on Thursday nights. If you were there then you saw my crazy 7 plus hour marathon mix that just about went into every musical direction I could think of. I wanted to snap more shots inside but the venue was so dam packed and I could not make my around. It was also great meeting lots of wonderful listeners of my radio show and podcast! Somehow when the cloud of smoke faded I found myself greeted by the morning day light sometime around 7 am. Great way to kick off 2014. Have a great year!
Super close to NYE! I’m looking forward to celebrating it with friends, new friends and family at Cana Rum Bar in DTLA. It’s intimate, cozy but known to house some of the best parties in LA on Thursday nights! 🙂 I’m breaking out all the party jams from across the musical spectrum. Cana is a member only venue but mention my name at the door or shoot me an email so I can confirm your spor in bringing in the new year with us! Indoor/Outdoor patio plus breakfast provided to those who can hang when the sun comes up!

Hope to see you!!!
I dont remember much last night but I do remember my midnight mix on KCRW (you can download it here), rocking the party and making an entire room jump up and down and lastly, ending up in a Del Taco drive through at 3 am. The energy at Viceroy was off the meters! At one point the entire room just got out of control and I saw a sea of heads and fists in the air . It was magical! A big thank you to all the friends who came out! I got to see some of the regulars that I met at Zanzibar and Sayers. Also a big thank you to the wonderful staff at Viceroy for the amazing hospitality and personalized Tequila bottles! I hope to never see Del Taco again but I do hope to see you all in 2013 out at the residencies! Have a wonderful new year and lots of love to you!

It’s the 16 song/15 minute playlist as aired on KCRW this past NYE. I have had a couple of requests in my inbox for a download of the mix. Your wish is my command! If you were not with us at the Viceroy then man you missed a party! Peep the pics. But if you were at home listening to these 1/2 time gems then odds are you probably had the cops knocking on your door telling you to turn it down! And yes, that Rick Ross verse is heat! Enjoy!
