Firstly, RIP to one of the greatest voices in music, Mr. Keith Wilder. I only knew of one way to open the show and that was with The Star of the Story. Latest digs from Yaeji out of Seoul, LA’s Overdoz. (produced by Pharrell) Maid Jordan (new banger is hot!) and Mount Kimbie get the Coby Sey remix treatment.  I’m really excited about this Manhattan jazz outfit, Onyx Collective who were featured on the last Nick Hakim record. Open Mike Eagle delivers as we well in this set alongside new Romare, Miles Bonny and Ty Dolla Sign.  Enjoy!

Last night felt good! It was a crazy weekend and to just be able to hit the basement alone, dim the lights and play the music that I love felt good. Some serious healing for my soul and hopefully yours. Played this on my radio show a couple of times (Clean version of course) and am really looking forward to actually sitting down and listening to this entire record.  The Weeknd always has this way of singing in such a dark manner of situations that would normally require excitement from others.  I’ve always appreciated that about him. It’s like success during a storm.  That Pharrell remix of Wanderlust is something special but this chorus has been on my mind often. Any time Drizzy + Weeknd team up I can expect something nice form the two.

This is possibly one of my favorite Weeknd songs out of his current catalogue of music. I remember playing this on KCRW earlier last year and having it on repeat.  “Rolling Stone” showcases not only his vocal range but excellent song writing. So great to see this brother building a bigger buzz post Coachella. Peep the video!
