MESHELL NDEGEOCELLO RECAP
Last night was exactly what I needed. In a week of debate on race, law, legislation, woman’s rights and budget talks I have to say it was nice to turn off the tv and head to the beach to hear Meshell. Ever since college I could count on her music to help me just sit and vibe with my self. Her latest album draws inspiration and is a tribute to the late Nina Simone. Nina’s spirit was in the air last night on the Santa Monica Pier. These songs put me at peace and as I would look out at the crowd I could see I was not the only one. It was an honor to host this event and bring Meshell out. Big love to the Twilight Concert Series for making these free concerts happen for the community.
