Brooklyn by way of Austin composer/producer swings through and talks about touring with Prince, jazz inspirations and the process behind his current 7′ inch compositions that are a dj’s true secret weapon. His reworkings of Kendrick Lamar’s “Kill My Vibe” and Bruno Mar’s “Uptown Funk” are horns galore with a touch not too many can pull of.

Not too many producers can remain relevant from 89 to present day. This man has certifiably done so by crafting some of the most amazing songs from my childhood and still creating some of the most progressive sounds today. FOLLOW THE NOMAD is his new project with Naz Tokio and friends who create what I consider this full fantasy gypsy sound that is rich and unique sonically.

We take it back and talk about his upbringing in Georgia as a little kid loving the sounds of KISS, Duran Duran, The Time, Prince and more. Definitely listen in as Dallas breaks down some personal stories involving his remix for Bjork and hearing her voice for the first time to studio sessions with Michael Jackson and Biggie! We also get a peak at the new EP as well a live performance with Nick Rosen and Mike Bennett

Make sure to grab his new EP entitled Follow the Nomad and catch him the band rocking The Sayers Club this Wednesday night with the entire band! It’s a unique experience that I enjoy.  Hope you dig!

Tonight and every Thursday night you can find myself and King Most (SF) holding down the fort at The SLS in Las Vegas. It’s been an adventure as you can probably tell via my instagram but one of the best experiences in 20 plus years as a dj/selector. Friday night I return w/ the SeSSionS crew that mixes live music with one of my favorite bands providing the good vibes. Always cool to play before and after this band. If you are in town, swing through!

Night One of our kick off at our weekly at the SLS Sayers Club in Vegas was quite the adventure. But the energy and madness during our performance was something else!!!! Big thanks to Jason Scoppa + the amazing staff at this unique and special venue! We were in the middle of the madness and I broke out the GOPRO and recorded a little something.  The adventures continue Friday and just about every night! Swing through! Say hello!

Looking back Saturdays have been super wild. In way’s I’m not sure Im at liberty to share. It’s an experience. You just have to be there to see for yourself. You know your holding down the right fort when the head honcho comes up to you and requests MC Breed, Janet Jackson or Xzibit. Hope to see you at The Sayers Club!

Taking off for vacation early Sunday morning but wanted to share with you some pics from Cana Rum Bar and The Goods at Zanzibar! Tonight I’ll be at The Sayers Club ducking from ice cubes, watching folks go ape nuts hanging from the the chandeliers and the usual madness.  Aaron Byrd sit in for me this Monday night on KCRW so make sure to tune in to his awesome selections.  But to compensate for lack of time this Monday night you can download my latest mix of PERSONAL FAVORITES.  Los Angeles If I dont see you at Sayers then hope to see you next week for LATIDO on the 16th, The Goods on the 17th etc etc!

Saturday nights at Sayers is where folks either end up in the air, thrashing into the drum kit, hanging from some elevated place, on the dance floor, head bobbing on the couch or on the deck. Last night we managed to witness 2 out of the previously mentioned. Derek Taylor and I raged through the soundsystem last night inside one of LA’s mysterious and fun spots hidden on the corner of Hollywood and Wilcox. Watching folks faces the second they step into this home of musical wizardry is priceless!  I had a lot of fun!
