The amazing Sampha returns with another EP that was recorded in 2010. Pre SBTRKT and Drake, the EP is a look into crazy drums patterns, off key synths and church chords. I’m digging Rainstars and Kij but the rest are great as well. Purchase the new EP here. All proceeds to go Youth Cancer Trust.

Yesterday this track was all over my timeline. Im a little late in posting but it’s still a beautiful track that I wish would turn up on I Tunes or in my record shop. SBTRKT never fails and shared this awesome tune that clocks in a little over a minute. Can we please get another SBTRKT record in 2014!? Could this be the teaser for a new release?

No doubt in my mind this new Sampha record will be in my top 10 of 2013. None! Nada! It was Sampha’s voice that sold me on the SBTRKT album. It was a great way to cap up a gorgeous day in LA. Since her show at the El Rey was sold out I knew my last hope would be the free in store at Amoeba. Jessie did about 4-5 songs and thankfully all the ones I loved! Her album “Devotion” has been on repeat for the past couple months including selections off her EP. But it was the Disclosure remix of Runnin that hold me sold on Ms. Ware!  So great to see music lovers in the building. Big thanks to Gazoo at Amoeba for the front row access!  You can also check out Jessie and the band on Morning Becomes Eclectic on Wednesday, 23rd of January during the 11 am hour on KCRW! I’ll be there!  Hope you dig these pics!

I give Jessie Ware a couple of years before we see the make over and the PR push to make her the Queen of electronic dance music. Why not? It’s well deserved. But Sampha is someone I have raving about for years now!  His voice is genuine and unique. He helped SBTRKT push his debut album into the number one slot of the best of 2012’s via many of the KCRW dj’s.  I hope these two have a break out 2013!
