New newness from all over! Im digging this new Joey Bada$$ that dropped a few weeks back. Also big love to Kae (Italy), Christoff El Truento (New Zealand), Jazzy Sport (Japan) and GDNA out of LA for sending me some great work directly into my inbox. Also this new Skin Town record just dropped and played a couple cuts off the amazing album from the LA duo. Speaking of LA newness from Jo Def off the Soulection label and Souleance comes with it bringing some nice heat out of Paris. This new Arcade Fire is slowly growing on me. It’s a fun record and the lead single is definitely a banger with the tints of the James Murphy sound.  And peep the new Bosq track getting remixed by Tall Black Guy! Thanks to Ubiquity for passing this my way at the very last minute!

And speaking of international flavor, thanks again to all the KCRW listeners for participating in the visual exchange of snapshots of your listening environments! I caught Skin Town’s set and it was really awesome. Vocalist Grace Hall really knows how to work a crowd. they drop a new album on the 28th of this month which I am looking forward to. This was Tiny Hearts first official live show (other than the Boiler Room set) and the trio had the room moving. As they began their set the room begin to fill full of spectators. Tim K kicked off the harmonies with his voice box as Jeedo laid down samples and drums which had the heads bopping. Dede took to the stage and owned it! This was a great live set by the trio and I hope to see more of them! It was also great to bump into KPFK’s Morgan Rhodes and J Rocc in the building.

Last night felt good! It was a crazy weekend and to just be able to hit the basement alone, dim the lights and play the music that I love felt good. Some serious healing for my soul and hopefully yours. I knew Jeedo was in town so I had to grab him and his new project Tiny Hearts for a chat about this brilliant new project featuring Tim K and Dede. One of the magical moments for me to witness was hearing the three vibe off each other while I simply stood back and narrated.
