I had a fun 30 minute conversation with these two regarding utilizing your tools during a live performance and the pacing of your create ideas. It was truly a lot of fun nerding out with Alanna and Maylee. Our ability to hop around a million ideas and subjects in a matter of minutes was everything I hoped it to be!  Hope you enjoy.

Toronto’s Maylee Todd returns to the podcast for Episode # 80 co-hosted by Novena Carmel. I should note that prior to hitting record, we stuffed our faces w/ pal Sophia Chang at The Line Hotel inside Pot. (Shout out Roy Choi, Jess + Natasha!). On the podcast we discuss woman’s personal issues, Mushrooms in Joshua Tree, SXSW, the influence of Bjork, porno theaters in the 6 and other madness. Lots of nonsense but full of laughs.

This song has been on repeat during my KCRW sets. Majid Jordan is best known to the pop world for their contribution to Drake’s Hold On, Were Going Home but they have been dropping gems for sometime on their sound cloud page. Their EP just dropped. Go cop it!

My next album is set for March 18th on Plug Research! Here is the tracklist, artwork and featured guests on the new record. Obviously there are many many artists I would love to have collaborated but I’m happy with this bunch. These are artists who I respect and have featured either on my blog or radio show. You can pre order the record via I tunes  or pick up a copy via the kind folks at Daylight Curfew and pick up an ANTVALA shirt! Below is the album’s first single! I am looking forward to sharing these amazing songs with you that we recorded over the course of a year. I am proud of this record.

BEST OF 2013 PT 1

Here it is! Part One is now enjoyable on demand. Part Two’s playlist is up and possibly my greatest show ever in the history of being on radio! Hold tight for that stream. But this one was a great way to reflect back on all the releases that might be under the radar, above the radar, slept on’s and recent finds of old classics that got love on my show on Monday nights.  This one was super fun! Hope you dig!

She shares some pretty interesting knowledge about what it’s like to be the daughter of an Elvis impersonator and much more!

Okay. Seriously. New Zealand and the land down under has been killing the game but what’s up north in Toronto and Canada?! Serious soul gems have somehow made their way down south into my hard drive and Im loving it! Big up Aaron BirdMaylee Todd, Circle Research Crew and all the other folks I have been blogging about or playing on my show.  But these cat’s got some love on last night’s radio show. The Precious Lo’s have been putting in work with different folks under various monikers. Nik Tamar just passed me some goodies (audio and visual) which Im stoked about. I thought Id share it with you. Let me know what you think!?  And peep The Precious Lo’s who are featured on my new mix (SELECT DOWNLOAD) for this week!  Get the music too!  Expect to hear more of this Monday nights on KCRW.

Just got this link the other night from the man himself. After sharing his last video the feedback on the blog has been incredible! Lots of likes on it. Bird, who hails from Toronto, actually got in touch with me and we have been chatting. Technology is an amazing thing. Here he is with his new video for Crazy. You can also download the song here.  Let me know what you think! I’ll be playing it on my show tonight on KCRW! Make sure to tune in!

Wait! And how brilliant is this video? How catchy is this hook?! Definitely one to look for in 2013!

Toronto is the spot! Just met some cool dudes who swung by Cana Rum Bar and run a big music festival and broke down the scene there.  We discussed The Weeknd, Drake and the youth scene there.  Im sold. My dude Full Crate has been spending some time there and I really feel like this could be the new capital of the new soul sounds by young kids who creating some amazing product!  I’ve played a few cuts from this kid and it just gets better and better.  Get to know him via these videos and let me know what you think!  Also grab this sexy gem! It’s a free download entitled Pour.

This is possibly one of my favorite Weeknd songs out of his current catalogue of music. I remember playing this on KCRW earlier last year and having it on repeat.  “Rolling Stone” showcases not only his vocal range but excellent song writing. So great to see this brother building a bigger buzz post Coachella. Peep the video!
