Fun night earlier at Sonos Studios in Hollywood and hosting the Q&A with Yuna. I asked about her inspirations and what she enjoyed listening to while getting into that zone. Best show ever! I think I was implanted on Earth on April 12th 1978 just for this show! From the start it felt right. Im very tactical in musical placement and sometimes one song can throw off the vibe for me. But this is just full of new heat from Saux, Okapii, Dj A1, Jaw Jam, Cashmere Cat, James Blake, Nanna B, Twinsmatic plus classics from Donald Byrd, Stevie and on and on. I have been on this real soul kick as of late and so I broke out the Weeknd, Jhene Aiko and Jeremih records. Something about that dark soul at 2 am that just feels right. LOOKING BACK | SNAPSHOTS

One of my best investments is my camera. Life is short. I often wonder what my seeds might think when they look back at this blog. Im not really sure I keep a blog. Sure I love art, culture, changing tides in fashion and music but this is more than that. This is a documentation of time and space. From everything I play on the radio to being allowed to have the freedom to do the things that I wish to do (i.e interviews, mixes, chats) and just capturing all that surrounds me. It allows me to do things my way. It’s not always the best way but its my creative hub to do the things that I feel get pushed aside.

When I look at these pics I am reminded of folks who took art into a direction that made them content at that time. I was in the right place at the right time to snap these shots of them in a certain place and they were okay with that. The trust between an artist and person with a camera is sacred. I am grateful to be able to capture these musical movements with a radio show and a camera but I prefer to be on the front lines with camera in two, microphone on and ready to record. I love to be in that space of creation. Being able to document it with a camera is exciting! I encourage you to create your blog! Capture whats around you. Create a podcast! Enjoy these snapshots!
