I’ve been away for 5 months doing my thing at The SLS Hotel in Vegas and since then I have been rocking a few parties in the Bay Area. The Bay in many ways reminds me of Friday night’s at Zanzibar. Folks of different backgrounds, experiences, ethnicities coming together to wrap up a work week with some old and new sounds. KG Superstar and I always prided ourselves with all that love under one roof. I’m super stoked to be back behind the turntables (and minutes away from home) and taking things up a notch. I just completed some new visuals for the night and being away from home you kind of realize what you took for granted from a dj perspective. Vegas is all about “Turn Up” and I love bringing that element to Sin City but I also love a little “Turn Down” (but don’t get it twisted, it will be turn’t up).  As always, drop me a line for guest list love! – anthonyvaladez@gmail.com. It was great to be back at my ole’ stomping grounds at Zanzibar for NYE. It was also great to be surrounded by old friends on the dance floor and see so many familiar faces! Human connection can really push me to step things up when behind the turntables. A big big thank you to the staff and friends. And yoooo!! Snakes? Fire Eaters? This spot was something else!

It’s about that time of year where we say goodbye to 2014 and bring in the New Year! I’m super exited to be back home in Santa Monica for this NYE at my home away from home, Zanzibar! I can easily predict this might be the party of the year. Hope to see all my friends under one roof counting in January 1st with me!  Tix available soon!

Thanks to the folks at GOPRO for the cameras. I have been documenting my journey as a person who ends up in the most random places. This past week I was in New Mexico working on a new video for my new record in addition to playing out across LA. I wanted to capture some of that magic in a new series of Vlogs. Rain vibes always keep a crowd indoors. Big love to all the folks who helped us celebrate an end to a work week accompanied by a little rain and thunder. It was a fun feel and I managed to break out some records I totally forgot I had in my collection. It was also good to see some regulars in the building getting down with KG Superstar and myself. First jump off of the New Year at THE GOODS at Zanzibar! We got things moving a little early with such a great crowd. As usual yours truly going into full beast mode at 10 pm all the way till lights are up. It was nice to see some of my Saturday night crowd over on the west side! Big love to all who came out. What a night! What a night! Energy was turnt up and folks got down with us for another fam bam Friday night edition of The Goods. Big thanks to KG Superstar for always bringing the healthy juices to balance out the slice of pizza I grabbed en route to Zanzibar. I usually take a walk around the block before hitting the turntables and I could already hear the crowd inside going insane to a pre mix I had made earlier in the day. I walked into to see about 50 people losing their minds and then it was time to take it up a notch.  We hope to see you next week for our final jump off in 2013!  NYE 2014 I’ll be bringing the party to the Cana Rum Bar in DTLA! This past Friday night at THE GOODS at Zanzibar was a true family affair! We had dance circles, soul train lines and dance tests in the building all night long. Taking off for vacation early Sunday morning but wanted to share with you some pics from Cana Rum Bar and The Goods at Zanzibar! Tonight I’ll be at The Sayers Club ducking from ice cubes, watching folks go ape nuts hanging from the the chandeliers and the usual madness.  Aaron Byrd sit in for me this Monday night on KCRW so make sure to tune in to his awesome selections.  But to compensate for lack of time this Monday night you can download my latest mix of PERSONAL FAVORITES.  Los Angeles If I dont see you at Sayers then hope to see you next week for LATIDO on the 16th, The Goods on the 17th etc etc!

What a weekend! LATIDO at Cana! First Fridays at the Natural History Museum! The Goods at Zanzibar! Sayers! Whooop!  Here is a photo recap of what went down.  One of the wonderful things I love about deejaying is playing to different crowds and venues.
